Starlite Porcelanosa Gala 2022
The Starlite Porcelanosa Gala is an annual charitable event chaired by Malaga born film star Antonio Banderas and Sandra Garcia Sanjuan. It will take place on Sunday, 14th of August at the Nagueles de Marbella quarry – the venue for the annual Starlite Festival. Hollywood veteran, Richard Gere will attend with his wife, Alejandra, who will be recognised for her humanitarian work.
Supporting social and humanitarian projects
Over the last 13 years, the gala has brought together the great and the good, across the business, social and cultural communities in Marbella (and further afield), to raise funds for the Starlite Foundation. Also, in attendance for the third year will be Reyes Maroto, the Minister for Tourism and other local dignitaries. During the event, the participants will discuss and commit to supporting social and humanitarian initiatives, including projects headed by famous faces such as Andreas Bocelli and of course the aforementioned Alejandra Gere.
The event will be hosted by showbiz luminaries, Valeria Mazza, Lujan Arguelles and Ivan Sanchez. After the business is concluded, the attendees will be treated to musical entertainment provided by Spanish, Cuban and Mexican acts including Chucho Valdes and Chui Navarro.
Starlite Festival 2022
Starlite is one of Europe’s most spectacular and longest running festivals. Over the last 10 years, revellers have been treated to packed schedules of over 50 days of concerts, events and experiences spread across June, July and August. In 2021, the programme was extended to 80 days and attracted around 160,000 people.
Culture, music, gastronomy and fashion
The festival is held in the Nagueles quarry, in Sierra Blanca, Marbella (an exclusive enclave renowned for its luxury property) which provides a unique venue. Big names, both throughout Spain and the rest of the world commit to performing at Starlite each year.
In 2022, attendees can see major artists such as Vanessa Martin, Jason Derulo and Dani Martin, and a range of old favourites like Diana Ross, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Anastacia and Andrea Bocelli. In previous years, big names in the music business have included Ricky Martin, Tom Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Alejandro Sanz, Sting and David Bisbal to name a few. Of course, there is much more than musical artists and DJ, there is also a shopping area with stands offering fashion, accessories and technology. You can also enjoy some seriously tasty food, as there is a wide range of restaurants and bars offering different types of gastronomy.
Getting there
The location of the festival in Sierra Blanca is above Marbella town which is perfect for containing the noise levels. To make it as simple as possible for everyone to attend, there are buses that will take you from Marbella centre direct to the festival.
Alternatively, it is possible to take a taxi or drive via the A7 motorway, turning off at exit 181 for Nagueles.
